The Instructor's Guide
The Smartdriving Instructor's Guide helps both driving instructors and their customers to get more from each and every driving lesson.
The 'Guide lies at the heart of a training approach that is now helping instructors to raise lesson fees, deliver a better service and gain greater job satisfaction.
More importantly, The SmartDriving Instructor's Guide safeguards your future security - this is done by helping you to develop the modern methods and skills needed to cope with tougher DSA regulation (present and future).
The 'Guide employs the easy flowing style of John Farlam's popular Driving Magazine and Driving Instructor articles to guide you, step-by-step, towards a deeper understanding of the training process.

Comments from readers...
Martin Sale, Milton Keynes: An excellent publication, easily the best I have read. Very motivational, readable and relevant.
Paul Sidebotham, Powys: Brilliant and inspirational! I must admit that I was a little dubious at the start, having a slight problem with the material in the first chapter. However I was able to identify strongly with the material in the following chapters. It just got better and better! To change one's teaching methods is not easy. I have to change piecemeal and often revert back to old habits - but I am getting there!
Mel Simpson, Filey: Excellent value for money. Presents many opportunities to compare various teaching methods and makes you think about how you can improve your own performance. With regard to the check-test it opens up many of the 'grey areas' of understanding and should allow us to approach a check-test in a much more positive manner.
Jimmy Jackson, Tyne & Wear: THE single most thought provoking manual on the driver training market, as far as I am aware, I look forward to the seminars!
Sue Suddick, Huddersfield: Things are really falling into place now! (My SEADI congratulated me on check-test!).
Dawn Adams, Lewes: Very Useful. Reinforces and reminds me how I was taught to do the job, and in some places explains things much better. As it said in the original advert, it not only tells you what to do, but how to do it! I enjoyed the way it was written - expertly sharing John Farlam's own experiences and making me feel that he was once at the same level as me, and that he has learned so much through practical experience.
Sally Moffat, Berwickshire: Although I only received it two weeks before my check test, and improved my grade quite a bit. I'm still a grade four but got six fives' instead of two.
Eddie Reade, Wolverhampton: Of instant benefit for those who choose to open its pages and read, apply its principles methods and techniques and use it to raise the standard of teaching and driving.
Eddie Saunders, Surrey: At the time of applying for a copy (of the guide) I was already, and still am, a Grade Six instructor, so the basis of your teaching was not new to me. However I must admit that your inspiration regarding continual self- assessment has been an 'eye-opener'. Since reading your guide I have been inspired to develop a new, 'pupil friendly', lesson record system.
