You might have heard the following (old) saying.

Fishing'If you give a man a fish, you will feed him for a day. But if you teach a man how to fish, you will feed him for his whole life.'

In a sense, you now need to learn how to fish for answers...

Learning to fish out the answers

Being able to work out the answers to multiple-choice questions is a little bit like knowing how to fish. However, having said that, I should sound a note of caution here.

There are some questions where you just have to know the right answer and understand why it is the right answer. Spotting these questions, and making sure you have learnt the answers is an important part of the process!

Learning ways to work out answers helps you to make the best use of your knowledge.

Many of the questions in this course have been specially designed to get you thinking – to involve you in the question and the possible answers.

Below are some figures showing how people remember things. The purpose of drawing your attention to these figures is to help you to recognise just how much being involved, by 'experiencing' the content of the questions and answers, can help you learn the relevant information.
