Bespoke courses designed to ensure that you fully understand the requirements of the Standards Check and how to integrate your normal-day-to-day teaching for the best test result.
The Standards Check is the subject of myths and half-truths with comments like
The truth is that the Standards-Check is simply an honest assessment of your normal day-to-day teaching, nothing more, nothing less.
Many instructors fear the Standards-Check, and perhaps with good reason...
The latest figures show that around 19% - nearly one fifth of all tests taken at the time of writing have failed the Standards-Check
Many new instructors end up with low grade because, although their training helped them to scrape through the ADI exam it didn't prepare them for real pupils and they find themselves trying to 'teach by PST subjects', a sure recipe for Standards-Check and business disaster!

Training that really does make Part-Three easy!
How was your initial instructor training?
"Was it an enjoyable experience that left you wanting more. Or was it a relief to pass the test and get it 'all over with'?"
Here's another question...
"Did you pass your Part-Three because of the help and support given by your training, or through hard work and struggle - almost despite your training?"
If you are one of the lucky ones who received good training that prepared you well for your test, you are in a minority. And the chances are that there were probably still times when you found the training a struggle!
While there are undoubtedly some skilled, expert teachers out there they are, regrettably, in a minority. For many years much of the instructor training available in the UK has been delivered by individuals who lack the requisite skills and who seem to have little or no respect for their clients.
It was hoped that the ORDIT (formerly ADITE and DIARTE) register would change things, however, the change doesn't seem to have materialised. Many ORDIT registered trainers are honest and hardworking but still not hitting the mark.
Would you like to make a difference? To work towards change for the better? If so, the SmartDriving Training Team might just be the answer you are seeking.
While individual trainers will often have a higher than average pass rate, pass rate in itself is not a sufficient measure off success. If you are already a trainer, answer the following questions honestly...
If you have answered no to any of the questions above, you can learn more about 'true success' and how to achieve it. And it's based on simple commonsense ideas!
Over the years John Farlam has worked tirelessly to develop his own skills and those of his fellow instructors. Part of his experience has been his work with instructor trainers - and he is probably the most experienced Trainer-Trainer in the business.
During his time as a 'master trainer' has developed and discarded many different methods and believes that his current methods offer cutting edge skills to prepare you for a successful career as a trainer..
Many people who train with John describe the experience as 'life changing', not only in terms of instructional technique, but also in terms of personal confidence and belief.
This probably because of John's strong belief that you already have the skills – his job is simply to help you to recognise that fact!
SmartDriving Trainer-Training and continuing development is now reserved for members of the SmartDriving Team, however, as part of the team you will be following in the footsteps of many successful independent trainers who have attended prototype versions of our training over the years.
The two people shown in the picture above - Kathy Higgins and Ged Wilmot are two of the best and most successful trainers in the industry – they are pictured here in 2004 when they first attended John Farlam's Trainer-Training course.
Tony Byaist (pictured right) from Essex said: "Before attending John's course I was a successful ORDIT registered trainer - I am now more successful than ever - John's methods have revolutionised the way I work!"
This unique approach to instructor training and trainer development has helped students who have been 'written off' by other organisations to gain 5's and 6's in their Part-Three exams. The course has also been instrumental in helping trainers to gain their ORDIT qualification.
We are looking for people to become high quality trainers in the SmartDriving Team. From time to time we will recruit and train new trainers - contact us to find out if we need trainers in your area.
