In car training and virtual classroom sessions

Part Three

This unit explains what you will cover during your practical in-car and tutor led virtual clasrrom training for Part-Three.

In car

The next step shows the in-car syllabus. Each subject has a Preparation/revision link to the relevant course material. In order to get the most value from your in-car Modules you need have completed any relevant projects.

Your in-car training is delivered in eight four hour modules, you may be completing two modules in one day or several in one week.

It's important to understand that the in-car training is designed to build on your study, not to replace it. With this in mind it is imperative that you are fully familiar with the relevant course material before attending each in-car module. If you are not familiar with the coursework you will be at a disadvantage during training and not gain full benefit.

Virtual classrooms

There are five online Virtual Classroom sessions that form a compulsory part of your training*, they will give you the latest up to date information regarding driving techniques, regulations, teaching practice and business development.

During the sessions you will be able to discuss the session material with your tutor and fellow students. You’ll be encouraged to prepare for the session and produce a reflective log after the event. Course numbers vary but typically there will be between six and twelve students in each classroom session.

*Compulsory: If your course carries a guarantee you must attend all of the virtual classroom modules. If your course does not have guarantees attached we strongly advise that you attend all classes to maximise your chances of early exam and business success.

Important:

You will be offered dates for each of the sessions, as soon as you receive an e-mail with available dates you should register by contacting training.support@smartdriving.co.uk as soon as possible, stating the session date and time that you wish to attend. The sessions will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

When you have been allocated a space you will receive instructions explaining how to join the classroom session.

You don't need any specific computer skills to attend the classrooms but will need to be at a computer or mobile device with internet connection, video camera and microphone. The platform that we used is is called Zoom. Zoom is a small (free) app that will automatically load on your device when you follow our joining instructions.
