‘It’s the final day of your Standards Check Preparation, and we bring you the eighth competency under the heading “Teaching and Learning Strategies” – and the 17th on the Standards Check assessment form (the SC1) is:

We identify the skills and techniques used during the lesson and explain how they address the core competencies on the Standards Check Form (SC1), showing you how you can use them in your own Standards Check.

Section 2 - The 'SC1 Form' Videos

Here, John and Graham discuss the 17th competency on the SC1 form heading, ‘At the end of the session – was the pupil encouraged to reflect on their own performance?’.

They give examples of how to do this for different subjects and learner types.

We take each of the 17 core competencies on the Standards Check Form (SC1) and give practical explanations and demonstrations showing you how to cover each section in your own Standards Check.

We refer to the Standards Check Form (SC1), The Official Guidance for Driving Examiners Carrying Out Instructor Tests (ADI 1) and the National Standard for Driver And Rider Training to make sure you fully understand how you are tested and how your skills apply to the Standards Check Form (SC1).
