Ailene worked with New Driver on a trainee licence and is continuing with them as an ADI.
Ailene had this to say:
“After deciding that I wanted to begin the journey towards a complete career change and train to (hopefully) become a driving instructor, I enrolled and started the Smart Driving online course; I found it very easy to use and follow. It gave me the foundation knowledge I needed to practice for and successfully pass Part 1 and Part 2. The Part 3 videos, again, are easy to follow and linked in such a way that this final section of the ICourse flows naturally and a great way to learn and understand principles and concepts of teaching.
On completing the Part 3 course work, I was lucky to be assigned to Ben Mullings to begin working through the 40 hours “in car training” to complete Part 3 and apply for my PDI licence. Ben is not only an excellent instructor, he always found a way to explain situations and scenarios I could relate to and help me teach in a natural way so I was able and prepared to adapt my teaching methods for my pupils when the time came; but he also kept me motivated during my time teaching/continuing my training on a PDI licence, going over and above the call of duty when I needed some extra advice and help on the weeks before my Part 3 exam (and is still there when I need him now). He is a wealth of knowledge and experience and I can genuinely say I miss our training days!
I couldn’t have done it without Ben, his support, knowledge and passion for the job kept me positive and made it all possible.
