Alan Kennedy (Executive Director @Road Safety GB)
Alan has worked in the road safety education and training profession for 32 years. Starting as a motorcycle chief instructor and test examiner, he then worked his way through the ranks, as a Road Safety Officer in South Tyneside, and Road Safety Manager at Durham County Council. Alongside his full time job in Durham, he was heavily involved with Road Safety GB from 2002. He was national Chair from 2009 to 2014 and during that time, he rebranded and rebuilt the organisation gaining Charity status, and forming the Road Safety GB Academy. Since 2014 Alan has worked for Road Safety GB in a full time capacity. In 2018, Road Safety GB international was formed and the business opened up overseas. Alan has a keen interest in ensuring that all road safety practitioners have the right knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to deliver highly effective interventions to all road user groups.
