SmartDriving Standards Check Success
Leading driving instructor services company SmartDriving have recently launched a ground-breaking Standards Check programme to help instructors to both prepare for the DVSA check and to boost their training skills generally.
The new programme has over 45 videos and revision notes with examples and information covering all of the areas assessed during the DVSA Standards Check. It also includes an extensive written manual structured around the Standards Check covering all aspects of expert-lesson structure, delivery and client-centred learning.
John Farlam, the founder of SmartDriving and co-author and presenter of the programme said: “Many instructors are concerned about the Standards Check and are looking for reliable advice to help ensure that they are ready when the time comes. With Standards Check Success we have aimed to produce the definitive guide.”
The motivation for the development of the programme came from driving instructors. Graham Lucas, SmartDriving Director said: “Many instructors find it difficult to justify the cost of one or two days lost income and the cost of a classroom course. We’ve developed Standards Check success as an affordable solution that they can study as much as they like in their own time.”
The video programme takes the 17 competencies assessed in the Standards Check and gives explanations and examples of each. There is also an example of a Standards Check lesson and a ‘frequently asked questions’ section.
The written guide has, amongst other things, in-depth explanations about lesson and route development, core training skills and the differences between instruction, client-centred learning and coaching.
