Trainers’ Resources 5. Driving Assessment Forms

5) Part 2 – Driving Assessment Forms and ‘How To Structure a Session’

This is the P2 Session Assessment Form.

You and the trainees will use this ‘DL25 based’ assessment form to assess the trainee in the driver’s seat for each ‘Assessment Session’.

In a 2:1 session, you will use Trainee 2’s form as the basis of the assessment’s discussions.

Each trainee will be asked to bring these documents to the session and use the forms to assess each other’s driving when in the back of a 2:1 session.

This will form the basis for comparison between your and the assessing trainee’s thoughts, reflection and remedial action.

You can then take a photo on your phone/tablet and upload to the trainee’s file via the CRM session notes.

Driving Assessment Sessions – Timings

To further help you time the session, there is a ‘timings sheet’ to manage the approximate timings of the day.
