This lesson will normally be combined with the cockpit drill/controls lesson.
Teaching learners to move off requires patience and understanding. The first controls/moving off and stopping lesson is the point at which you must convince your customers that you are ultimately in control and that they can have every confidence in your tuition. Mess this one up, and you won't keep your customers for very long. Get it right, and you will soon see each and every one pass their driving test!
In addition to the first lesson, moving off and stopping is something that you will continue to teach in a variety of different situations, up/downhill, in traffic, at junctions, when manoeuvring, etc. The basic approach discussed in this unit will lay the foundation for all moving off/stopping situations.
