Confidence scoring

Knowing the answer to each of the multiple choice questions is only part of the study and qualification process.

The real deal is in really knowing that you know...

In other words, having a deep rooted sense of confidence.

Guesswork will not be a lot of help in your exams... Especially when you reach Part-Three.

You might be lucky enough to scrape through Part-One by guessing a few answers about which you are unsure or not fully understanding some of the answers, however, if the examiner senses any weakness at Part-Three level, you not get the benefit of the doubt.

That is why you need to be and feel 100% certain about the stuff you are learning. And of course, if you scrape through your qualification with low grades you will be at an immediate disadvantage when you start work...

This is why, each time you do a 'test' as part of your study, it's important to check your confidence; to feel comfortable with your answers.

As you answer each question, rate your level of confidence as explained in the Study Unit Starter exercise. The confidence ratings are:

4 = Absolutely certain about my answer

3 = Reasonably confident about my answer

2 = 50 / 50

1 = Unsure

0 = Blind guess (no idea so I picked an answer at random)

When you are assessing your level of confidence do this quickly so as to capture your immediate feeling about how confident you are in your answer.

The reasons for assessing your confidence are that it will help you to target your study more effectively and consolidate your motivation with regard to the fact you are progressing through the course well.

Foundation Questions

Next: Refer to your downloaded 'Study Modules Getting Started' paper to learn about the Foundation Questions - these form a fundamental part of the course and are absolutely essential for both exam and career success.

After you have completed your study of the Foundation questions move to Step 6 and try an 'L Test' or other theory exam.
