Welcome to Section One
To help get get your course off to a good start, this section is primarily about the skills that you will need to become a successful, efficient driver.
The starting point for success lies in your attitude and approach to driving and a clear understanding of the need for basic car care.
What will I gain in this section?
By the end of this section, you will be starting to understand a lot more about driving – this may be by revisiting some of the stuff that you learned in driving school or looking forward to the new skills you will be learning.
Advanced tests
Over and above any training that you might choose to undertake in addition to this course, your driving can be developed through advanced driving organisations in the UK. The advanced tests and their benefits are explained.
Driving Skills
Introduction to safe driving skills standards: The section on driving standards gives an overview of both the vehicle control and road skills required for safe driving.
Car Care
An essential requirement for good driving is a vehicle that is safe and efficient to drive! This course considers the importance of maintaining your car for maximum safety. The car-care project will help to get you thinking about regular vehicle maintenance plus daily and weekly checks. This section also includes the vehicle safety check questions asked at ADI Part-Two.
ADI/Learning Skills
Self-Evaluation: Keep track of progress is essential for ADI students, This part of the course includes a special feature about a self-assessment method that you can use throughout the rest of the course – it is also an excellent method for use with your future customers. The self-evaluation process is also important because it will start to give you a deeper insight into the learning process.
Question time: These questions have been developed to integrate driving and teaching knowledge.
